Art Design

Giuseppe Veneziano

Solo exhibition of paintings and works on paper by Giuseppe Veneziano. The theme of this new series is the dialogue between Art and Design, which the artist explores through the irony typical of his language, which draws from high and low sources and combines reality and fiction, sacred and profane. Veneziano's visual imagery has always been populated by saints, art characters and strip book heroes, but his intent is not to demystify them for mockery, on the contrary it is to humanize them to make their symbolic value more effective. New myths appear in these artworks, the iconic objects of Design: we discover, for example, that Vermeer's "The Reader at the Window" owns Ettore Sottsass's Carlton bookcase. To complete the exhibition, some of the design objects depicted in the works.
